The Library Unit of the NNRA took centre stage at the weekly in-house seminar as Mrs. Nkiru Opara, Assistant General Manager and Head of the Unit, delivered an insightful presentation on its functions, achievements, and future plans.
Mrs. Opara underscored the vital role of the Library as more than just a collection of books, describing it as a strategic knowledge hub that supports informed decision-making and promotes regulatory excellence across the NNRA.
She highlighted that the NNRA Repository (DSpace)—accessible via elibrary.nnra.gov.ng, currently hosts over 960 electronic resources and provides access to more than 37,000 online journals through global research platforms such as Hinari and OARE.
In her presentation, Mrs. Opara also emphasized ongoing digitization efforts aimed at preserving technical reports and institutional knowledge, alongside plans to deploy an integrated library system to improve digital accessibility, efficiency, and collaboration within the Authority.
The session concluded with a shared appreciation of the NNRA Library’s pivotal role as a knowledge engine, empowering staff, enriching research, and powering effective nuclear regulation in Nigeria.
