Mrs. Hassatu Sirika is a seasoned regulatory professional and pharmacist from Katsina State. She began her academic journey in Kaduna State, where she completed both her primary and secondary education. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1996), and became a Fellow in Social and Administrative Pharmacy at the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (WAPCP), Lagos, in 2017.

In 2022, she earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Radiation and Medical Physics from Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK). She is also a certified ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) Lead Auditor, trained by BSI Middle East and Africa (UAE).

Mrs. Sirika began her professional career at the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in 2003 as a Senior Regulatory Officer. Over the years, she held several strategic positions, including roles in the Technical Services Unit under the Director General’s office and in the Planning, Research, and Statistics Department. She rose to the position of Assistant Director in 2015, later heading the Advocacy and Public Health Collaborations Division of the Pharmacovigilance and Post Marketing Surveillance Department.

In December 2019, Mrs. Sirika joined the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) as an Assistant General Manager in the Department of Radiological Safety. She was tasked with coordinating key divisions, including Industrial Application Safety, Transport Safety, Waste Management Safety, Public Exposure and Environmental Safety.

She was promoted to Deputy General Manager in 2021 and currently serves as the General Manager of the Authorization and Enforcement Department at NNRA.

Mrs. Sirika brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight, and regulatory expertise to her role, contributing significantly to radiation safety, regulatory compliance, and public health in Nigeria.

She is currently the Nigerian IAEA TC Project Counterpart for the African Regional Project RAF 9065 - Establishing Regulatory Infrastructure for Control of Radiation Sources.
