NNRA Governing Board

Section 2 of the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Act 19 of 1995 (CAP N142 LFN) establishes the Governing Board of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority and its membership.

The Board consists of:

1. The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as Chairman
2. The Ministers  charged with responsibility for the following matters, that is:

• Defence
• Internal Affairs
• Ministry of Solid Minerals Development
• Science and Technology, and
• Petroleum Resources

      3. The Director General  of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency

      4. The Director General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria

      5. The Director General of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority, and

      6. Two eminent Nigerians with cognate background and experience in nuclear science to be          appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
