NNRA SEALS NON-COMPLIANT MEDICAL FACILITIES IN LAGOS

The NNRA, through its South West Zonal Office, Lagos, has sealed five medical facilities for operating without the requisite authorizations, violating regulatory requirements, and failing to implement corrective actions despite repeated warnings.

The enforcement exercise, which commenced on 13 October 2026, was conducted in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force Anti-Bomb Squad (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit). The affected facilities are Real Medilab Diagnostic Centre, Irawo; Magodo Specialist Hospital, Magodo GRA Phase 2; Emel Hospital Limited, Festac Town; Azzon Medical Diagnostic Service, Oshodi; and Primrose Specialist Hospital, Gbagada.

The exercise underscores the Authority’s commitment to enforcing compliance with nuclear safety and radiation protection regulations. In line with Section 32 of the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Act No. 19 of 1995, the NNRA remains committed to protecting radiation workers, patients, and the public from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation. The Authority reiterates that all facilities using radiation sources must obtain the required authorizations and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.

Safety First. Compliance is Mandatory. Public Protection is Our Priority.
