NNRA LOSES ACTING DIRECTOR-GENERAL/CEO

The Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA), regrets to announce the death of its Director - Administration and Finance and Acting Director General/CEO; Mr. Bulus Nkun Yabaya. He died on Friday, 27 May, 2011. He is survived by a wife and five children.

Mr. Yabaya did his Bachelors Degree in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria (1978) and a Master of Public Administration Degree from University of Jos (1987). He also did a Postgraduate Diploma in Accountancy and Finance (2000) as well as a Masters in International Affairs and Diplomacy also from ABU, Zaria (2004).

Burial arrangements as released by the family show that there will be a funeral service in his hometown, Madakiya (about five kilometres from Kafanchan Roundabout), Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Saturday, 4 June, 2011 before interment.

The late Mr Yabaya had a distinguished career. He was Assistant Director, Personnel and Administration, in the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology, Zaria, from 1995 to 2005 before joining the NNRA in 2005. He held the “Distinguished Merit Award for Excellence in Public Administration” by CIIA and was Member, Nigerian Institute of Management as well as Fellow - Chartered Institute of Industrialists in Administration and Fellow, Institute of Chartered Management Accountants. He acted briefly as Director-General following the retirement of the pioneer Director General of NNRA - Prof S. B. Elegba.
