Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1 of the Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection Act 1995, the Federal Government established the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) with the responsibilities for nuclear safety and radiological protection regulation in Nigeria. NEW DG FOR NNRA

The President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has approved the appointment of Professor Lawrence Anikwe Dim as the Director General/CEO of the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA).

Professor Dim is a nuclear physicist and an expert in nuclear safety and security. Until his appointment, he worked at the Center for Energy Research and Training, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

The appointment is with immediate effect.
